The God Destroyer

Painted for a His Dark Materials fanzine. Will Parry is one of my favorite characters of all time, so I really enjoyed working on this and gave him my best effort. ♥ So many challenges in this one: I've had a very specific vision of Will's face since I first read the books and worked really hard to capture it perfectly. Making the subtle knife seem magical but not TOO magical was also a challenge... as well as depicting the angels, who should be barely visible and made of Dust. I don't challenge myself often, but in this case it was definitely worth it.
